Why Knob-and-Tube Matters
Knob-and-tube (K&T) was standard from the 1880s to the 1940s. It has no ground wire, its insulation grows brittle with age, and it is dangerous when buried under insulation or spliced into carelessly. What the Work Involves
A licensed electrician assesses what is live, what is abandoned, and what needs replacing, then removes and replaces the active knob-and-tube with modern, grounded wiring. The highest-risk runs come first if the work is staged, and you get documentation for your insurer.
